Therefore, the bearings or housings or ring-shaped workpieces need to be heated before installation. The induction bearing heater can be compared with a transformer. It is important to ensure that the bearings are demagnetized in the future so that they do not attract metal magnetic debris during operation. All induction heaters have an automatic demagnetization function. The temperature difference between the bearing and the housing mounting position depends on the level of the interference fit and the bearing size. Normally, a bearing temperature of 80 to 90 ° C (144 to 162 ° F) above the shaft temperature is sufficient for installation. However, the heating temperature of the bearing must not be allowed to exceed 125 ° C (257 ° F), because the bearing material will undergo metallographic transformation at this time, resulting in changes in diameter or hardness. Local overheating must be avoided, especially the bearings cannot be heated with open flames. Wear clean protective gloves when installing heated bearings.
